Hello everybody. I hope you are all doing the best you can to stay happy and healthy. I want to encourage all of you to be active and find some fun activities to do. Exercise is such a great way to feel good about yourself as well as get rid of any stress you may be feeling.

Ideas to Stay Healthy and Fit While at Home
I am so glad we are back in person, but here are some ideas for at home or in case you are virtual at any time.
* Find a place inside or outside where you can be in your personal space and go through your exercises and stretches (for example - jumping jacks, arm circles, various leg stretches, pushups, sit-ups, and plank).
* If you have a backyard, go for a jog (remember to run without stopping and find a good pace). Set a goal and increase your time each day. If you can't get outside, jog in place inside!
* I would encourage you, just like we do in class, to find music you enjoy and listen to it while you exercise!

Keep moving and staying active now and throughout the summer. Cardio is so important for both your physical and mental health. It keeps your heart and mind strong!!

Focus Skill to Practice:
Play Ball!
This is a great time of year to get outside and throw a ball around. Hopefully it warms up soon. Have fun, give yourself a challenge, and give your best effort. Aim to practice and play for at least 30 minutes each day. Here's a few ideas:
Practice throwing - If you are by yourself...
- find a target to throw at
- a wall that would bounce the ball back to you
- aim at something you could knock over
If you have a family member to partner with...
- play catch
- dodgeball
- target game from gym class
** If you have a bat and ball, take turns throwing to each other and hitting the ball.
** If you do not have a partner, throw the ball up in the air and practice hitting it.
